CORAL TAXONOMY AND IDENTIFICATION

Being able to accurately identify corals requires a better understanding of the structure of corals and the many types of genera that habit our reefs. The Coral Taxonomy and Identification Course will teach you how to identify some of the most common coral genera in the Phi Phi Island group of islands based on their skeletal features. You will learn to differentiate the many coral ‘forms’ or ‘growth types’, and the roles they play in diversifying the types of organisms living on the reef.
