Originally from the UK, Neil became a PADI Instructor in 2003 and has since built a career in some of the world’s top dive destinations, including Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Australia, Fiji, Mexico, and Egypt.
Based on Koh Tao, Thailand, he regularly travels to our hand-picked PADI 5 Star IDC centers worldwide to conduct the in-water section of the IDCs. His experience also includes 7 years as PADI Regional Manager for Thailand and serving as a PADI Examiner. With his background, who better to guide you through your IDC?

Beyond diving, Neil is passionate about sports and fitness. He organises beach volleyball, hikes, wakeboarding, and even aerial trapeze!

GETTING STARTED

PADI’s Digital eLearning materials, allows the student to study independently at their own pace before class. The PADI Instructor Devlopement Course now includes PADI’s eLearning as the standard pre-IDC training method.

There are nine interactive knowledge development sections. Pre-studying online saves classroom time, which allows more time for practicing the skills that distinguish you as a PADI Open Water Instructor.
Upon signing up for our PADI Instructor Devlopement Course and ordering the PADI Digital IDC Online Pak and the PADI EFRi digital eLearning paks , we shall provide you access to the eLearning. This will allow you to study all the material before starting your PADI Instructor Development course.

We will meet you online in our virtual classroom to review the IDC curriculum presentations. 7 x 3 hour sessions. UPGRADE YOUR INSTRUCTOR KNOWLEDGE WITH MARINE CONSERVATION COURSES

As a PADI Eco Dive Center we are committed to encouraging all divers to empower themselves with the knowledge that will help to ensure the health of our coral reefs for generations to come. As a PADI Instructor you will be in a key position to influence your students with an accurate understanding of the roles our oceans play in the sustainability of all of the habitants of our planet.

As part of the PADI IDC, new instructors are awarded several PADI AWARE instructor specialties. However, these courses do not include how to teach the specialties. For those who want to add real value to their professional skill set, we offer an optional conservation teaching add on to the IDC.

For an additional 10,000 THB, our Scuba Dive Online PADI Course Director will spend three dedicated days with IDC candidates, showing them exactly how to teach the AWARE specialties. This includes classroom presentations, teaching tips and techniques, and in water sessions covering the skills instructors will later teach their own students. The specialties covered are PADI AWARE, Coral Reef Conservation, Dive Against Debris, and Shark Conservation.

PADI AWARE INSTRUCTOR

1. PADI AWARE Instructor
The PADI AWARE course is open to both divers and non divers, introducing key ocean conservation issues and practical actions anyone can take to protect the marine environment and support positive change worldwide.

PADI AWARE CORAL CONSERVATION INSTRUCTOR

2. PADI AWARE Coral Reef Conservation Instructor
Learn about reef structures, threats, and conservation methods. Includes ocean dives using underwater survey tools to monitor coral species, size, and health. You will learn to teach divers passionate about reef protection.

DIVE AGAINST DEBRIS INSTRUCTOR

3. AWARE Dive Against Debris instructor
Take part in an underwater clean-up dives and learn about the impacts of marine debris. Post-dive, record and upload the data on collected marine litter, to the Dive Against Debris database.

AWARE SHARK AND RAY CONSERVATION INSTRUCTOR

4. PADI AWARE Shark and Ray Conservation Instructor
Learn about shark and ray biology, their ecological role, and global threats. During dives observe shark and ray behaviour, as well as conducting citizen science surveys.

Shark Tour
We went on a Shark Watch tour and let me say, it was unbelievable. There was so many marine life and our guide Valentino was so nice and knowledgeable. I can’t wait to come back and have Valentino as our guide. You have to take this tour if you are in the Phi Phi islands.
